Meditation As Medicine

I borrowed this book by Dharma Singh Khalsa, because of its title.  It resonated with me, because I know that the Spirit can never get sick, all disease stems from a disharmony between Spirit & Mind, which then affects the physical well being of a person.

I liked the Ailment/Chakra Chart, given this one can work on Ailments with a variety of techiques both in the book and outside the book (Chakras are numbered from the 1(bottom) to the top 8 (Crown):
1 - Base of Spine (Tattwa: Attachement)
2 - Behind Lower abdomen (Tattwa: Lust)
3 - Behind Navel (I thought it was above the navel) (Tattwa: Greed)
4 - Behind the Heart (Tattwa: Pride)
5 - Throat (Tattwa: Anger)
6 - Center of Forehead
7 - Top of Head
8 - Aura

The book goes into much more detail, if you are interested in more, buy the book, otherwise you can experiment with Yoga Asanas, Visualization, Qi Gong, Sound Healing focusing on the above areas.

Personally, I prefer to use do traditional yoga focusing on a simplified balance spread of Asanas, as well as one/two form/s of Qi Gong for pranayama, and a particular meditation technique.  Less is Often More.  If you stick with a decent daily routine, do at least 1.5 hours every day addressing all aspect of the Eightfold Yoga Path, you will be better pose to handle all the challenges that come your way on all levels: Mental, Emotional, Physical.
